Your music stays yours
Privacy policy.
Slow is an audio practice app developed by Tim Searle. This policy explains what happens to your recordings and practice information when you use Slow on iPhone, iPad or Mac.

Your recordings
Slow accepts audio files you choose through the system file picker or sharing features. It makes a verified, app-managed copy so your project can reopen reliably; it does not move or delete your original. Playback, slowing, looping and waveform analysis happen on your device.
Managed recordings are kept in Slow’s visible iCloud Drive folder when iCloud Drive is available. Slow keeps a durable local copy while an upload is pending and retries when iCloud becomes available. Apple may transfer these files between your devices according to your iCloud settings. Slow does not send audio to CloudKit or to a server operated by the developer.
Practice data on your device
Slow stores project names, recording descriptions and identifiers, saved phrase names and ranges, playback position, speed, loop state and view settings so you can resume a session. It also keeps device-specific information needed to find local audio, waveform caches and preferences such as whether to listen while dragging.
Audio processing and waveform caches stay on your device. Device backup services may include local app data and locally stored recordings according to your system settings.
iCloud sync
When you use iCloud with Slow, project and phrase metadata sync through your private CloudKit database. This includes names, ranges, playback and view settings, recording identity information, and information needed to reconcile edits and purchases across devices. Audio files sync separately through the Slow folder in iCloud Drive.
CloudKit does not carry your audio, device file paths, security bookmarks or waveform caches. Your iCloud account is managed by Apple; Slow does not require a separate developer account. If iCloud is unavailable or you sign out, Slow can retain local work and resume syncing when it is available again. Apple’s privacy policy describes its handling of iCloud data.
Purchases
If you choose an in-app purchase, Apple processes the payment through the App Store. Slow checks purchase status to provide the correct project and phrase allowance across your devices. The developer does not receive your payment card details. An optional tip, where available, does not unlock features.
TestFlight and feedback
If you use a TestFlight build, Apple may make installation, session, device, operating system, crash and feedback information available to the developer. Feedback you submit can include comments, screenshots and any contact details you choose to provide. Public-link testers are generally anonymous to the developer unless they supply an email address with feedback; invited testers’ invitation details may be visible.
This information is used to investigate problems and improve Slow. Please avoid including private recordings or sensitive information in feedback. See Apple’s TestFlight information and Apple’s privacy policy.
Advertising and analytics
Slow has no advertising, in-app tracking, third-party analytics SDK or developer-operated analytics endpoint. It does not sell your personal information or track you across other apps and websites.
Managing and deleting your data
You can delete projects and saved phrases in Slow. Deleting a project removes it from your library, but does not delete the original recording or Slow’s managed recording copy. Synced deletion information may remain for a time to reconcile changes across devices, and local caches or backups may persist under system retention rules.
You can manage Slow’s audio copies in the Slow folder in iCloud Drive, subject to Apple’s Files and iCloud controls. Deleting the app removes its local app container, but does not by itself erase iCloud Drive documents, CloudKit data or device backups. Offloading an app may preserve local data. Apple explains how to manage iCloud storage and files.
This website
This is a static site. It has no account, contact form, analytics script or advertising tracker. The site is delivered through Cloudflare and GitHub Pages, which may process standard request information such as IP address, browser details and requested pages to deliver and secure it. Their own policies apply to that processing: Cloudflare and GitHub.
Contact and changes
For privacy questions, support, or a request about feedback held by the developer, email support@tryslow.io. If you write to us, we receive your address and the information you choose to send, use it to respond and investigate your request, and retain it only as needed for those purposes. Apple manages information held by its services under its own policies.
This policy will be updated when Slow’s data practices change. The date above identifies the latest revision.
